Streetrich had the chance to organize a breakdance competition for the yearly Vancouver youth week. The event happened at Creekside Community Centre downtown Vancouver. The competition was focused on our youth ( -18 yrs). We had a showcase battle of the older, more experienced local dancers. That day we reached out to minimum 300 visitors. The feedback was very positive.

This government funded program by Canada immigration services and the city of Vancouver.

Streetrich had the honour to participate in this program with a group of 15 youth that was very into breakdancing. The program was focused on the different issues about oppression and we used breakdancing and the other elements of hip hop culture to touch on these different intense and heavy topics. The 9 month long program ended with our participants organizing a city wide event themselves.
